As we build the supply chain with our partners, we focus our efforts on the areas where we can have the most significant impact: The sourcing of materials.
For our project, we choose to source sustainable fibers that are environmentally friendly grown. Our base material is organic cotton from Aegean, Turkey. This coastal region is known for its humid sea climate and we have managed to lower the water consumption even further by finding a partner that uses innovative drip-irrigation technology.
We combine the organic cotton with TENCEL™ Modal fibers, a soft viscose made from 100% reforested beech wood from Austria and nearby countries. We work with LENZING, a world known specialist for viscose fibers. TENCEL™ Modal rates five times better in the MSI Higgs Index1 than generic Modal due to their heat recovery and chemical recycling technology in the process.
